Know Your Neighbor Grant Program
CKIC’s Mission:
The Clinton Kirkland Improvement Corporation (CKIC) fosters collaboration with the Village of Clinton and Town of Kirkland, including Clark Mills and other hamlets, by planning, implementing and supporting diverse and equitable opportunities that enhance the quality of life for all residents and visitors.
Know Your Neighbor Grant Program:
In its inaugural year, the Know Your Neighbor (KYN) grant program is supported and run by CKIC to support our mission and to fulfill community-generated needs. The program is designed to strengthen the community by helping residents connect, share, and get to know each other in an open and inclusive environment.
This program supports small, neighbor-led interactions. The program offers an opportunity for neighbors to:
- Learn each other’s names
- Build familiarity with people living in the neighborhood
- Create informal support networks
- Have a space to get to know people across ages and across backgrounds
Through an application process, the grant program provides five $500 grants to residents of the Town of Kirkland including the Village of Clinton and surrounding
hamlets, such as Clark Mills and others, to host informal neighborhood events including:
- Block parties
- Potlucks
- Ice cream social
- Outdoor gatherings
