Winning the DRI has been a multi-year process, beginning with the community’s first application in 2019. Once Clinton and Kirkland were chosen as the Mohawk Valley’s DRI recipient in 2023, the community engaged in a six-month process that gathered additional feedback from stakeholders, evaluated proposals more closely, and ultimately led to the creation of a Strategic Investment Plan, from which the governor determined the 11 projects that would receive funding.
